This is the part of my website where I will put just some miscellaneous stuff in here, mostly about God. It may go from different Bible verses to sermon's from church, or "sermons" I write myself and post on my diary. Hope you like it!

Psalm 103:

Praise the Lord, I tell myself;

     with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.

Praise the Lord, I tell myself,

     and never forget the good things he does for me.

He forgives all my sins

     and heals all my diseases.

He ransoms me from death

     and surrounds me with love and tender mercies.

He fills my life with good things.

     My youth is renewed like the eagle's!

The Lord gives righteousness

     and justice to all who are treated unfairly.

He revealed his character to Moses

     and his deeds to the people of Israel.

The Lord is merciful and gracious;

     he is slow to get angry and full of unfailing love.

He will not constantly accuse us,

     nor remain angry forever.

He has not punished us for all our sins,

     nor does he deal with us as we deserve.

For his unfailing love toward those who fear him

     is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.

He has removed our rebellious acts

     as far away from us as the east is from the west.

The Lord is like a father to his children,

     tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

For he understands how weak we are;

     he knows we are only dust.

Our days on earth are like grass;

     like wildflowers, we bloom and die.

The wind blows, and we are gone--

     as though we had never been here.

But the love of the Lord remains forever

     with those who fear him.

His salvation extends to the children's children

     of those who are faithful to his covenant,

     of those who obey his commandments!

The Lord has made the heavens his throne;

     from there he rules over everything.

Praise the Lord, you angels of his,

     you mighty creatures who carry out his plans,

     listening for each of his commands.

Yes, praise the Lord, you armies of angels

     who serve him and do his will!

Praise the Lord, everything he has created,

     everywhere in his kingdom.

     As for me--I, too, will praise the Lord.

Psalm 51:

Have mercy on me, O God,

     because of your unfailing love.

Because of your great compassion,

     blot out the stain of my sins.

Wash me clean from my guilt.

     Purify me from my sin.

For I recognize my shameful deeds--

     they haunt me day and night.

Against you, and you alone, have I sinned;

     I have done what is evil in your sight.

You will be proved right in what you say,

     and your judgment against me is just.

For I was born a sinner--

     yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.

But you desire honesty from the heart,

     so you can teach me to be wise in my inmost being.

Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean;

     wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Oh, give me back my joy again;

     you have broken me--

     now let me rejoice.

Don't keep looking at my sins.

     Remove the stain of my guilt.

Create in me a clean heart, O God.

     Renew a right spirit within me.

Do not banish me from your presence,

     and don't take your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore to me again the joy of your salvation,

     and make me willing to obey you.

Then I will teach your ways to sinners,

     and they will return to you.

Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves;

     then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness.

Unseal my lips, O Lord,

     that I may praise you.

You would not be pleased with sacrifices,

     or I would bring them.

If I brought you a burnt offerning,

     you would not accept it.

The sacrifice you want is a broken spirit.

     A broken and repentant heart, O God,

     you will not despise.

Look with favor on Zion and help her;

     rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

Then you will be pleased with worthy sacrifices

     and with our whole burnt offerings;

     and bulls will again be sacrificed on your altar.

This Psalm still can be used in today's standards. Just cut out the part of the burnt offerings.

Sermon for August 07, 2005 (River of Life Community Church)

"Verbalizing" Love for God

Matthew 22 (NLT) 34But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees with his reply, they thought up a fresh question of their own to ask him. 35One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this questions: 36"Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?"

37Jesus replied, "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. 38This is the first and greatest commandment."

Do I desire to be closer to God?

Am I willing to ask the Holy Spirit to help me love God more and better?

23rd Psalm for the Workplace

The Lord is my real boss, and I shall not want.

He gives me peace, when chaos is all around me.

He gently reminds me to pray and

do all things without murmuring and complaining.

He reminds me that he is my source

and not my job.

He restores my sanity everyday and guides my

decisions that I might honor him in all that I do.

Even though I face absurd amounts of e-mails,

system crashes, unrealistic deadlines,

budget cutbacks, gossiping co-workers,

discriminating supervisors and an aging body that

doesn’t cooperate every morning,

I still will not stop--for He is with me!

His presence, His peace, and

His power will see me through.

He raises me up, even when they fail to promote

me. He claims me as His own, even when the

company threatens to let me go.

His Faithfulness and love is

better than any bonus check.

His retirement plan beats every 401k there is!

When it’s all said and done, I’ll be working for Him

a whole lot longer.

And for that, I BLESS HIS NAME!

Prayer List

Please keep these people in your prayers. If you want to add someone to this prayer list, please email me at smiley83@peoplepc.com and put "prayer list" in the subject heading. Thank you.

Kay Northcutt, Matthew Maltimore, Terry Johnson and the Johnson family, all the Northcutt family (extended), Crystal Lamere, The Lamere/Maltimore families, all the people in the armed forces.

Kay needs prayer for healing from her pains and aches.

Matthew needs physical healing prayers along with guidance to go in the direction God wills and wisdom in order to understand what God wants. He also needs prayer for strength to do what is right.

Thank God! Crystal Lamere found a job. She still needs prayer though because she is still not doing well financially.

Thank you!!
