This is the part of my website where I will add "cool stuff", such as movies I wanna see, books I wanna read, that sort of thing.

COOL PLACES

  1. Wild Country     This is a great dance club, located in Collinsville IL. You only have to be 18 to get in, but remember, you cannot drink, unless you're 21. Please respect that so that you don't ruin it for the other 18 yr olds! Their address is: 17 Gateway Dr. Collinsville, IL 62234, phone #: (618)346-6775
  2.  Auntie Anne's Pretzels      This is the best pretzel place in the world! I'm not sure if they have them everywhere, but I know they do around Illinois and Missouri. In Illinois it is at St. Clair Square in Fairview Heights. Their website is stclairsquare.com. You can get directions. In Missouri they have it at Westfield Shopping Town. Not to sure about that place so you'll have to do some digging. Happy eating!
  3. Beer Barrel Pub (formerly known as Maggie May's). It's a bar in Godfrey. It's small, but that makes it better. Plus Cherry Hill Band plays there every once in a while and they are my favorite band.
  4. Cherry Hill Band. This is the best band ever! They are supposedly quitting at the end of the year though so hurry in and see them! They rock!

If you have any 'cool places' in Illinois that you would like me to add to my site, please email me and let me know.

GOOD READS

  1. The Goonies by Steven Spielberg     This is a great book, full of adventure and friendships. It is also a movie, just in case you're wondering. I like the book a lot better than the movie, though. It's about this group of kids who have to leave their homes because of the super-rich egotistical jerks at the local country club. They find a pirate map, promising buried treasure, so they decide to check it out. They run into all kinds of exciting and not-so-fun things, such as skeletons, and of course, the fratellis. This is a great book for younger children, 10 or so. It teaches about friendships and how everyone can and should contribute to a problem or task.
  2. A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer    This is a true story about a man who, as a child, was severely abused by his mother, both physically and mentally. Some accounts are very gruesome and very graphical, and are probably not suitable for children. It's not a fun book to read, but one we all should. And remember, if you or someone you know is being abused in any way, please get them some help. You may be the guardian angel they need right now.
  3. The Diary of a Young Girl written by Anne Frank    This is also a true story, and also a movie. It's about a young girl living during WWII. She is a Jewish girl, trying to hide from the evil Hitler. It tells of her struggles in hiding, as well as her struggles of becoming a woman and finding love. It gives an account of what happened to her after they were 'found out' and forced to leave their wonderful hiding place. Very compelling book. I could not put it down. There are other diaries of hers, all with the same stuff, but some have more entries than others.
  4. All the Harry Potter Books written by J.K. Rowling. This is a fiction series. And there is 5 books out now. A 6th coming soon. It is about a young boy whose parents were killed by the evil wizard Lord Voldemort. He lived with his Aunt and Uncle until he turned 11 and was able to go to Hogwart's School of Wizardry and Witchcraft. It's all about his life at school and defeating Voldemort and his lot again and again. You would think it would get boring Harry trying to defeat Voldemort every book, but it doesn't. Very good read.
  5. Final Victim. I'm not sure who wrote the book, but it rocks! It's about a guy who's a freak and he is killing all these women to make a "special" woman to help him fight off God. These 2 detective people get involved and also involve a hacker in jail. They bust him out of jail and he escapes. Then the detective's ex-wife is killed and he feels bad so he comes back. They all almost die. It was good. Please read it!

MOVIES

Harry Potter movies. All of them. They are great. Check out what I've said about the Harry Potter books for information on the movies. (they are about the same).

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants: very girly movie. but if your boyfriend isn't being so nice, make him take u there! not sure what it's about, but it's got my fave jeans in it: Levi Strauss Signature. Found at Wal-Mart, Levi Stores and JC Penney.

Scream 1, 2, 3:  very scary movie. i think it should be added to the classics like Psycho! anyway. i love those movies. there's always a twist.

      GO CARDS!!
